Issue
OneNote 2016 for Windows can no longer be found on a PC where it had been previously installed as part of any edition of Microsoft Office.
When searching for OneNote 2016 on the Windows Start menu or in the Uninstall or change a program list in Windows Control Panel, OneNote 2016 appears to have been removed without the user’s knowledge or permission.
Background
This is a known issue that affects users on Microsoft Office releases prior to version 16.0.10730.20102, where an Office update may have caused OneNote 2016 to be automatically uninstalled for those users.
Users of Office 365 Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) releases are not affected by this issue.

Resolution
Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Click here to download the 32-bit edition of OneNote 2016 for Windows.
Note: For most users, this is the only step needed.
If you are using a 64-bit edition of Microsoft Office:
Click here to download the 64-bit edition of OneNote 2016 for Windows.
If you’re unsure whether you have the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Office, download the 32-bit version. Alternately, you can determine which version of Office you have by following these steps:
Start Microsoft Word 2016, create a blank document, and then click File > Account > About Word.
In the dialog box that opens, note whether your edition of Office is 32-bit or 64-bit. This information appears at the end of the first line of text which confirms the product name, version, and your installed edition of Office.
Click OK, and then exit Word 2016.
After you’ve finished downloading and installing OneNote 2016, it should be automatically associated (or re-associated) with your currently installed Microsoft Office license.
